This is still very much in progress. I’m told it doesn’t work at all on Safari, and even in Firefox it has some quirks. Doesn’t even save yet. But you can drag panels around. Add content. Remove content. Pretend to configure the content.

It looks great! It looks
It looks great! It looks like Google personalized home page (http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en) it will be very useful for portals powered by Drupal.
The things to come look very promising :-)

Yes, looking forward to the full version. I don't know how it can get any more intuitive than that, so hopefully people will quit complaining that it's too hard to understand.

Fails on testing with IE7 as well right now.
Great work
When I met the jquery guy at the Boston Drupal meetup a few months back, I was thinking how it would be cool to do this for the menu system and other similar pages that rely on weights for ordering.
Once you lay the ground work down with this project, that kind of thing will follow very quickly into the core. Awesome.
You must be kidding
That's unbelievably cool! I've been literally dreaming/thinking about an interface like this for a long time. Unreal. Great stuff.
WOW!
This is truly amazing! Been looking for this since I started with drupal.
Could potentially tie-in with the Mysite module too. (not sure if it is planned already)
Thanks!
Do you need help ?
Do you need help to work on that ?
I'm interested :)
Panels are cool, but how can I add metatags
Hi,
I am building an website with drupal to provide better info about the free possibilities to get test-products, good brochures, recepies etc..
I would very much like to use the panels module to make linking blocks off organised free information.
My problem is that the panels are not nodes and the nodewords module (great module) doesn't provide meta tags.
two questions:
- Has somebody got the panels working with metatags description and keywords (keywords from the blocks in the panel (say the block titles)?
- Are panels in the near future considered as nodes, so all standard node add-ons like nodewords just work like a charm?
Thanks in advance!

Drag-n-drop
Earl. I've been working on this using JQuery to integrate with MySite. There are some overlaps between Panels and MySite that might benefit each module.
Perhaps the drag-and-drop should be extracted out into a separate module or set of common JS functions.
The drag & drop is, as it
The drag & drop is, as it stands, just being pulled out of the interface jQuery library, so it basically is already extracted.
Of course, I'm finding this to be a little buggy and slightly unwieldy, and there is some talk of rolling our own drag & drop to be specific to this application. I'm not exactly sure where that'll go.
If you want to see the current code to evaluate this, it's checked into the DRUPAL-5--2 branch of panels module.
I would love this feature
I would love this feature for my site.
That's sweet!
That's really cool. And what is this cool thing that lets you resize the comment text box? Is that part of a module that's already out there? Or just a part of your theme? I'd love that for my site.
Thats awesome! Any idea,
Thats awesome! Any idea, when it will be available?
